Five students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been selected for the 2022 HBCU Digital Media Fellowship at the 2022 Online News Association Conference (ONA22), September 21–24.
Fellows will work closely with lead mentor Michael Grant, Founder of Get Current Studio, on digital projects during ONA22. They will receive training and mentorship on emerging technologies and approaches to reporting, get access to insights from industry professionals leading ONA22 sessions and participate in networking during the conference. HBCU fellows also benefit from a complimentary one-year ONA membership and will join a talented community of fellowship alumni.
The 2022 HBCU Digital Media Fellows are:

- Leah Clark, Xavier University of Louisiana
- Kassidy Jack, Clark Atlanta University
- Brian Jeffries, Morgan State University
- Kailyn Rhone, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University
Since 2014, this fellowship has been supported annually by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
