Joel Abrams is an experienced digital journalist currently working at The Conversation U.S., a nonprofit news organization dedicated to sharing the knowledge of academic experts with the public through journalism. He is in charge of distributing this content for free under a Creative Commons license, to a nationwide network of publishers, large and small, online and in print. He is also involved in general digital strategy, including social media, analytics, newsletters and fundraising.

Previously, he ran social media strategy and launched vertical sites on Catholicism and technology for The Boston Globe. He has also worked in product management and editorial positions at The Christian Science Monitor, Inc.com, a failed startup, Lycos and CNN International.
