This session is about how the messy process of creating a source tracking form for your staff can be a more inclusive, better-informed system. This session helps attendees think about what information they want to track and identify issues that are relevant to their unique newsroom. We'll also share strategies for staff compliance, getting an accurate baseline and why it's a good thing for reporters to grill you about your form.

This session is designed for:

  • Newsroom leaders who are trying to help staff have conversations about race, gender and power
  • Journalists interested in creating a form to track demographic data about their sources
  • Anyone who is trying to improve how they cover underrepresented communities
