Kristin Tessman is the Deputy Director at Montana Free Press. In her role, Tessman works closely with the ED and board of directors to sustain and grow MTFP as the leading nonprofit newsroom in Montana. Her responsibilities range from donor and partner management (fund development, framing of key approaches, high-quality relationship building, communication) to administration (finance, reporting, facilities), and human capital (HR/recruiting, mentoring, career development). Before joining MTFP, Tessman was the Executive Director of AJAY MT and brings with her fundraising, program development and nonprofit management experience. Tessman was born and raised in the southeast and earned her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia. In 2015 she moved to Montana with her husband and two daughters.
